Efficient energy usage

  • Our energy management systems have been ISO 50001 certified since 2012. By installing photovoltaic systems at the Falkenhagen site, we also aim to promote the expansion of renewable energies.
     
  • We analyze our entire corporate carbon footprint in Scope 1-3 and carry out targeted calculations of product carbon footprints in order to understand our carbon footprint holistically and take further steps to reduce our emissions.
     
  • We cover part of the process heat and electricity in the Falkenhagen and Überherrn production plants via our combined heat and power plant.

Responsability in the supply chain

  • Our suppliers sign the Nordgetreide Code of Conduct before working with us. This ensures that our shared values and principles are in harmony.
     
  • Selected raw materials carry certifications. For example, we only use 100% RSPO-certified palm oil.
     
  • We comply with the Supply Chain Duty of Care Act and the European Deforestation Directive, thereby increasing transparency within the supply chain.

Naturally innovative

  • We rely on mono-materials and optimum recyclability for our packaging.
     
  • We pass on organic waste so that it can be used as animal feed or compostable packaging material.
     
  • We are constantly developing our products on the basis of the Planetary Health Diet. While the sugar and salt content decreases, the proportion of proteins and whole grains increases.

Appreciative cooperation

  • Our training program with a wide range of apprenticeships and dual study courses is close to our hearts - they create the specialists of tomorrow.
     
  • In 2023, we signed the Women's Empowerment Principles of UN Women and the UN Global Compact.
     
  • In cooperation with JobRad, Nordgetreide offers employees the opportunity to make their commute to work and everyday life more active.

Community and participation

  • We make a contribution to society by supporting selected donation projects and sponsoring measures.
     
  • Whether it's a garbage collection campaign, training for the relay marathon or dragon boat races: Joint activities with our employees strengthen our sense of unity.
     
  • We are members of associations and working groups in order to share our specialist knowledge and continue to develop.
